The idea is good, but it remains a little fragile. If it were made of metal with a wider clamp, it would give a much greater grip capacity and therefore much more functional. And on the same principle a horizontal clamp to take plates in a microwave oven.
The idea is good, but the gripping surfaces are far too small. Even with small plates and if held slightly at an angle, they slip off, and the contents of the plate slide to the rim and over. With high rims, such as bowls, it works just fine, but isn't suitable for everyday use.
After several uses to take the hot dish the tongs do not no longer holds the dish. I could have a refund for the defective part.
Great item, seems sturdy enough, but it would have been better if I had bought two, for the heavier pans, but I will do that soon.
