・Ubertooth One is an open source 2.4GHz wireless development platform for Bluetooth experimentation. Based on the powerful LPC175x ARM Cortex-M3 microcontroller with full-speed USB 2.0, Ubertooth One is ideal for developing custom Class 1-compliant Bluetooth devices.
・The entire board is only 2.5 inches long. It has a USB-A connector on one side and an RP-SMA connector on the other side.
・One of the features that distinguishes Ubertooth from other Bluetooth development platforms is that it not only can transmit and receive 2.4 GHz signals, but it can also operate in monitor mode, allowing real-time monitoring of Bluetooth traffic.
・This mode of operation has been included in low-cost Wi-Fi modules for many years and has been used for numerous applications in research, development, and security audits.
・However, a similar solution for the Bluetooth standard has not existed to date. And because it is a completely open source platform (software and hardware), schematics and code for all hacking needs are readily available.
・Note: To open the schematic and board design files in the source package, you will need to download KiCad (an open source software package for automated electronic design).
