The problem is the protruding pieces of plastic - there is a risk of injury (so before giving the child to play, carefully look at all the elements of the set, and cut off the burrs or smelt them with a lighter). All elements are made entirely of plastic - they are light and quite durable. The blades of the knives are deceptively metal. I didn't notice the paint peeling off them. The pots are well balanced - they do not tip over, and the lids fit like a glove (you just need to find and choose the right pairs, because they are packed loose in the package).
