Kakegawa City is often featured on TV as a city of longevity. Most of the green tea that people in Kakegawa drink is deep steamed tea. By steaming for a long time, the tea leaves contain nutritional components that would otherwise not be dissolved.
Anyone can easily make it as it can be used with either hot or cold water and does not produce any waste. Since we use 100% powdered tea leaves without using any additives, the tea leaves will settle over time.
The average amount is 1/5 teaspoon (0.5g) for a 100ml cup, but please adjust the strength according to your preference. For a 500ml plastic bottle, the average amount is 1 teaspoon (2.5g).
